Welcome to DeafPlus

DeafPlus was established to recognize the language and cultural needs of the individuals who use visual communication/NZSL alongside their additional disability.
DeafPlus came from recognition of a gap in services to address the unique needs of Deaf people whom have an additional disability.
Ensuring information is accessible in dual languages is a key component of our point of difference. This enables both the DeafPlus individuals, their family and services to be able to access us, learn and grow together.

We aim to enhance existing services, educate those businesses who wish to be able to be more inclusive, upskill the community, raise awareness, advocate for a better future for all.

With NZSL being one of our national languages, more and more organisations are seeking to be able to improve access, our point of difference to any other deaf only organisation is that we are able to advise not only about Deaf people language and culture but also other disabilities across the sector and the combination of DeafPlus,

We deliver services following the enabling good lives principles which underpins all we do.

DeafPlus CEO has lived experience of the Deaf community, as well as having 20+ years experience in the DeafPlus sector.  This makes us uniquely placed to be able to provide a wholistic approach.to the services we offer.

Although we are a new business the CEO has worked across the sector for over 27 years and has a passion to share the knowledge to enable all who wish to become competent and inclusive.

At DeafPlus NZ we recognise that no 2 people are the same, everyone has different language levels, health issues, disabilities/abilities, we aim to taylor make our service to meet your requirements and work with you to find solutions that make positive progress.
